Note on "captive" pictures

The responsibility for legal acquisition and ownership of animals in captivity (such images are labeled "captive" in the image database) rests with the sender of the respective images. Submitted “captive“ images can be put online only if accompanied by simultaneous transmission of the sender's street address, effective today (2009 Nov. 29th). In case of enquiries by authorities we are obligated to disclose the sender's street address. For this reason we request to send picture material from private keepers if and only if all required documentation on legal acquisition in the country of origin and documentation of ownership in the country where the animals are being kept can be presented upon request.
