A psammophile, recorded from a few localities in Karakalpakstan (southern periphery of Aral Sea and Amu Darya deltaic plain) and Khorezm. Not documented as in the N Kyzylkum of Uzbekistan, although present in the north of the desert (to 44ºN) in adjacent Kazakhstan. Its main area of distribution within Uzbekistan appears to be the C-S Kyzylkum where widespread and common in some areas. In the desert observed from as far north as 42ºN 64ºE, east of Uchkuduk, C Navoi province and through N/C Bukhara province, southeast to north of Navoi city, S Navoi, and around the Alat area and the Sundukli Sands. Also in S, in S Surkhandarya.
