Genus:

Heliobolus FITZINGER, 1843

Species (3):

Heliobolus lugubris  (A. SMITH, 1838)

Heliobolus nitidus  (GÜNTHER, 1872)

Heliobolus spekii  (GÜNTHER, 1872)

Uncertain (1):

Heliobolus neumanni  (TORNIER, 1905)

Species Typica:

Heliobolus lugubris  (A. SMITH, 1838)

Taxonomic notes:

Outwardly, the 4 species do not have much in common. Molecular investigations will be needed to determine if H. lugubris and H. spekii with H. nitidus and H. neumanni actually form a monophyletic group.
